Inspired by Mr. Langston Hughes
Live like
There’s no
Tomorrow
Because
Life is
Funny sometimes
And you don’t
Get to do
Everything
You wanted to do
Life is short
Live it to it’s
Fullest
Dream like
You live
Forever
Because
Dreams
Can never
Ever
Get to big

Tree Frog January 23, 2012

Those little hands don’t want to slip
Shiny eyes darting around
Tip toeing quietly without a sound
Jumping leaping catching flies
Thank goodness for those little eyes

My Minnie December 15, 2011
Posted by wespendok in : Uncategorized , add a commentI had a fish and
I named
her Minnie. Her scales
were as orange as pumpkin pie.
I’d watch her
in the bowl and my frowns would
turn into happy smiles.
Until one day,
my happy smiles turned into
sad frowns and my
happy eyes, they turned into
tears.

Inspired by My Sky
I see him swimming
Around the tank
Say bye for the day
And then I go
I come every day
He eats, swims, plays
Healthy and happy
In the tank
Then I go
To school
And then home
But as I come home
it happens
No more swimming, eating, playing
Not healthy or happy
He was swimming and then stopped
And he never swam again
ever
Dragons December 15, 2011
Posted by wesrebeccaf in : Uncategorized , add a commentDragons were once believed in by all.
They shook the ground as they walked
Started hurricanes when they roared
Made tsunamis when they swam
Made volcanoes erupt when they breathed
Started landslides when they tripped
Then one day we stopped believing
And dragons disappeared
If you start believing then maybe
Dragons will return
And if you don’t
Believe in dragons
Then the dragons you don’t
Believe in
Choose to not believe in you
Sadness December 15, 2011
Posted by weszaviera in : Uncategorized , 1 comment so farSadness
Sadness is a memory
A bad memory you want to forget
It happens a lot
And makes you so sad
You remember a moment
A small moment
And you don’t like it
It can happen in many ways
But it is still sadness
It has a secretive approach
And you don’t expect it
But when it happens
It is like a wave hitting a small rock
And you just want to forget it
But you can’t
So you try not to think about it
And even though sadness is bad
It can help you remember something
And you can try as hard as you can to not think about it
But it can help you remember a sad moment
That can possibly be a good memory
My Sky December 15, 2011
Posted by weszaviera in : Uncategorized , add a comment When I read My Sky this is what I feel
Sadness for Jack
As I think back
His dog, my turtle
Two different things
Are so much the same
Anger at the car
For not stopping
That blue car splattered with mud
Just sped down the road
Not looking
And hurt two things
Jack and Sky
In two different ways
Emotion and pain
Anger at the pet shop
With the turtles and fish
For not helping
All the pets
And not caring
What happened
The blue car
The pet shop
Not doing anything
To stop what happened
And leaving sadness
In so many forms
Love that cat December 12, 2011

Inspired by Mr. Walter Dean Myers
I love that cat like Cyndi and Claire and I
Love to laugh
Love to wake up and
Have her sleeping in
A chair next to me,
Purring
She was a loner
Out on the street
Until we found her
And brought her in.
Now she is a pet
But a wild cat at heart
Love that cat
Vision Statement November 26, 2011
Posted by davemendell in : Uncategorized , add a commentVision statement
Daily, the children arrive
Ready and eager to learn
To be inspired
To be questioned, challenged
And cared for.
Questioning, challenging
Caring.
Logging in, raising hands
Raising the bar.
Going further than ever imagined.
Calulating the options
And risks
Solving the everyday problems
That create the foundation for a
Lifetime of learning
Opening the lines of communication
To the world around them
Decoding and unlocking
The strategies and tools for
reading the Lines
Between the lines
Beyond the lines
Blurring the lines
Between home and school
Learning and play
Loving
Laughing
Living for a better tomorrow.

Earth November 10, 2011

Earth, spins on its axis.
The Moon circles Earth.
Soft ground, bright day,
black night.
Spring, Summer, Fall, Winter.
Hot days, cold days.
Trees, flowers, petals.
Blue oceans, gray-green
Lakes, seaweed.
Animals, insects, reptiles.
Our home, on Earth!!!
